about the site

This new & hosted version of Apple Traffic was opened on June 23rd 2008, but on Freewebs it was opened on November 11th 2008.
history
I first started out with a Comcast.net site, which was not a good tool
at all. On Comcast you are very limited
in what you can do. You cannot use a lot of HTML on it and when I first started getting into HTML, I got
really frustrated with it. I put all these codes on it and then the whole thing wouldn't work. I wanted my site to be
like all the other sites I saw online, with cool layouts & all.
I finally asked my dad to let me have a Freewebs, and it took a
lot of convincing. My first Freewebs was
Samm Ox (lame, huh?), and I had more after that. I used a lot of premade layouts and I got used to working with code because
sometimes I would edit them a bit. But, I still really wanted to make my own. I followed tutorials and tried multiple
times until I finally had myself a coded layout. I used blends and uncoded layouts for a while with my code though because I didn't
have an image program, until I found out about Photoline and downloaded that.
All this time, my site was not known by anyone but my family and friends, and also other people I had on my AIM buddy list.
Barely
anyone ever visited it. I think I got two or three visitors a WEEK...besides myself. I really wasn't supposed
to talk to people I didn't know online or make my site "public" (said my parents.) But, for some reason the topic of my web site
came up and I told them about that problem. That I worked hard on my site but I barley got any visitors. So, finally, I was
allowed to. I advertised and applied for affiliates, and before I knew it, I had visitors coming who actually liked my site! I was
so excited.
Now, I got hosted by Lily at Paint The Silence. She's a good host and I got the hang of things quickly. FTP was not
hard at all, even though I thought it was. I thought I'd be banging my head on the keyboard, but all I did was
follow a tutorial by Lily, and tried doing different things. I was like "HEY! I GOT IT! This could work!" Haha. Anyway,
I'm going to keep improving on my site by getting reviewed and trying new things, and eventually I'll probably get my own
domain.
About The Name
The name Apple Traffic was found on one of those site name maker's that someone had on their web site. For some reason, I just liked it. I'm usually very picky about site names.
I think it means that Apple as in New York, and Traffic, as in, New York City is busy and everything. I like that its
different and I love New York City. I had past site name's that were
lame. I remember a few of them but you'll probably laugh at me. I dont know what I was thinking at the time.
